I have become know as the “bat expert” in Northern Ohio and have completed several research projects within Cleveland Metroparks, but also in conjunction with the National Park Service and Metro Parks Serving Summit County. For the past three years I have been volunteering as a bird bander on a private reserve in Ecuador set aside to protect endemic and endangered birds of this region, and have started a non profit organization called Las Gralarias Foundation Inc. that raises funds for conservation, environmental education and biological research in this region of Ecuador. I have received several honors within my professional organization, The National Association for Interpretation, including; Region 4 Outstanding New Interpreter and Master Front-line Interpreter as well as the National Master Front-line Interpreter Award. This September I will celebrate my first Anniversary with my wife Kathy, who works for Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. In our spare time we enjoy traveling, birding and just being outdoors.
